Johnnie Fields was born in Waco, Texas and grew up in Austin. He attended the University of Texas and received a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1951. He married Dot Sartin in his final year of college in 1950. They have 3 married children, several granchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Mr. fields has practiced architecture for over sixty years and still plays an active role at Fields and Associates Architects.
Through the years, Mr. Fields has always had a passion for art with watercolor being his favorite. Johnnie was President of the Odessa Art Association, and a founding member of the Art Institute of the Permian Basin. He designed the Permian Basin Art Museum. Mr. Fields is a past member of the Waterloo Watercolor Group and has served as a past President for the group. He remains active with the Lakeway Painters and teaches watercolor at the Lakeway Community Center.
